Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Significant weakness of both limbs with history of acute gastroenteritis 10 days back needs immediate hospital admission and evaluation to rule out GBS (guillain barre syndrome), although electrolyte disturbance also can cause this. If confirmed, GBS needs treatment with IVIG to prevent progression of weakness and irreversible damage. Kindly take him to doctor without delay.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
