Suggest Treatment For Loss Of Feeling In Foot And Ankle After Surgery

I am taking 200 mg as prescribed by my vascular surgeon (loss of feeling in ankle and foot after surgery). After 4 months there has been no improvement. I am to stop taking the medication over the next few weeks. What is the best way to do this? YYYY@YYYY

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of loss of feeling in foot and ankle after surgery . Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to allergic reaction due to metal, an animal bite, or an insect sting, it could be due to infection of hair follicle and contact dermatitis as well. The symptoms can also occur due to nerve problem or post surgery complication . You should apply cold compresses and avoid any cosmetic product. You should avoid constant rubbing as well. You should wear loose clothes and avoid frictional heat due to constant rubbing. For now take benadryl twice a day. I would suggest you to consult your surgeon for proper examination. Doctor may prescribe antihistamine , corticosteroid ointment and may give adrenaline short. Avoid touching or picking rash. Doctor may also refer you to neurologist for nerve problem .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
