Suggest Treatment For Low BP In A Person With Parkinson S Disease

My husband (83) suffers from Parkinson s disease and his BP was low this a.m., so I did not give him his BP Meds, but gave him Gatorade. (Average this a.m. Was 100/56 @ 10 AM). He said he felt very weak at 11:30 AM & BP dropped to average of 88/49. Gave him some pickles & ham. He was a bit confused then. Took BP @ 1:30 PM & is now 86/41 & 81/41. We are vacationing in Pensacola Beach, FL. I AM GIVING HIM MORE FLUIDS. I have put him to bed. I did all the stroke tests that his neurologist does. What should I do, short of taking him to an ER/Hospital??

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
Trying to manage his low BP without investigating cause may be very difficult.Apart from hydration, he may also benefit from vasoconstrictors like adrenaline in a hospital setting while the cause of his condition is being investigated.I will suggest you take him to the hospital.Continue with more fluids.
Hope this will help
Best regards
