Suggest Treatment For Low Heart Rate And Blood Pressure While Suffering From Pneumonia
My husband, age 64, is in the hospital now. He went in because of pneumonia. While he has been there, during the night, his heart rate drops to 30, his blood pressure drops and the nurses rush in and try to get it stabilized. Last night they transferred him to the CCU and today the hospital cardiologist told us he is fine. He does have heart trouble. I do not believe this is right. Please help
Hi welcome to HCM. Low heart rate in your case has to thoroughly evaluated through a baseline ecg and 2 dimensional echocardiogram of the heart.EP study can carefully document the cause of any conduction bock.Drugs like isoprenaline will help to increase the heart rate.A complete bacteriological cure of pneumonia is needed.Implantable cardiac pacemakers are needed based on the results of EP study.Consult your cardiologist for further care. Thank you.
