Suggest Treatment For Low Motility Of Sperms

Hi, my boyfriend and I found out that he had lazy sperm. We are trying to get pregnant ans have been trying for years. What can he do to make his sperm less lazy? And if trying to get them active does not work the natural way what surgeries or treatments can we consider?

Hello.
Thank you for contacting HCM.

I have gone through your question and I will try my best to give you a satisfactory answer.
As the sperms take around 3 months approximately to develop i would suggest to maintain a healthy life style to increase the quality and quantity of the sperms by changes in routine such as:
maintain a healthy weight, limiting consumption of alcohol and cigarettes, consuming diet consisting of eggs; cheeses and fish along with vegetables more particularly tomatoes, lettuce , carrots, spinach etc.
Some environmental factors also play a role in low sperm motility such as heat therefore avoiding hot baths, saunas or tight fitting underwear may help in increasing the sperm motility.

I would advise you to repeat the test after 3-6 months. In case if you are unable to conceive after more than 1 year of unprotected sex please consult your local physician for further course of treatment.
You and your boyfriend may be offered options like IUI i.e a sample of man's semen is collected and then injected into the woman's body or IVF i.e the fertilization process is done outside the body in a specialized setup and then fertilized egg is placed in the woman's body. Both these procedures eliminate the need of sperm to swim forward.

I hope this answers your question. Please feel free to contact HCM again if you have any concerns.
Wishing you good health.
