Suggest Treatment For Lower Abdominal Pain, Heavy And Prolonged Period With Clots

I am having very heavy bleeding and large clots and have been for around 4 weeks now. Lower abdo pain that stops me in my tracks. I ve previously had ovarian cysts and endometriosis and also currently have gall stones. should I seek immediate advise or wait until my scan on Friday? im currently having to use maternity pads as sanitary towels aren t absorbent enough and im flooding

Hi maam,

If i were your treating doctor,i would have prescribed you drugs like tranexemic acid along with mefenamic acid(in the required dosage) in order to provide symptomatic relief.
I would have also prescribed you an iron supplement for a period of about 3-4 months.

I would have checked your vitals(pulse,blood pressure and heart rate)and the hemoglobin percentage.Depending on that,i would have advised you whether you would require i.v fliuds or not(to replenish the heavy blood loss immediately).

Then i would have advised you to consult your gynecologist for a thorough gynecological examination and necessary investigations.

I advise you to go to your local physician immediately to seek urgent medical measures to prevent heavy vaginal bleeding, which, if not controlled might lead to a state of hypovolumic shock.
