Suggest Treatment For Lower Back And Abdominal Pain In An Elderly Person
I am 67 years of age and not had a period for 22 years. I have had lower back pain and lower abdominal pain for 3 days and have slight vaginal bleeding today. I take Ibuprofin 600 mg for my arthritis and have done so for a number of years could this medication be causing my problem?
It's very unlikely that ibuprofen is causing vaginal bleeding. The reason for it is related to something else and to know that the first thing I would advise you is to get an ultrasound abdomen done.
Visit a gynaecologist regarding this with your USG results so that she will guide you on managing the pain and bleeding. Once the underlying cause is known to further decision on treatment can be taken.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Manisha Auradkar, General & Family Physician
