Suggest Treatment For Lower Back Pain And Weakness In Legs
I have been experiencing lower back pain. I can only walk a short distance and then I need to find a chair. I also have leg weakness that is somewhat relieved if I bend over or sit. If I go to the store or mall I need to hold on to a shopping cart. I do not have these symptoms if I am driving. Sometimes when sitting on the sofa I have to get up and sit on a hard chair. Thanks for any recommendations that you can offer.
As per your history you can take tab acetaminophen for pain relief and take multi vitamin pills for weakness. You can apply diclofenac gel locally and you can also apply heating pads for relief. If still you do not get relief then i will advise you to consult with orthopedics specialist, he may procure blood investigations, complete hemogram, vitamin D levels, calcium levels, vitamin B12 Levels. You may also require MRI spine. Till then keep your self hydrated and continue physical therapy.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shyam B. Kale, General & Family Physician
