Suggest Treatment For Lower Back Pain While Having Osteopenia

I am 84 and I have osteopenia. Also, I have scoliosis in my lower back. What is the best thing I can take to help both? Lower back pain can get really bad if I do much of anything inside or outside. My doctor said there is nothing that can be done for my problems except take Tylenol!!!!

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is quite common and it is due to degenerative changes in the spine.
You can take drugs like tramadol for pain relief.
If symptoms persist better to consult an orthopaedic and get evaluated. You can try steroid injection in case of refractory pain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
