Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hi, i am having lower left abdominal pain. I have had an upper and lower GI, which they said was clean. I have also seen a gastroenterologist with no answers. What are my next steps to solve this issue? It is becoming increasing more painful. Thanks
Hello, Left lower quadrant pain can be caused by many things. Commonly for women it is often caused by an ovarian cyst, ruptured or not. For men (and women), it may be a hernia, referred pain from a back problem or some other muscular problem, to name a few common examples. In any case, a thorough physical exam and perhaps some imaging (ultrasound or CT) may help solve the mystery. I wish you good health and a speedy resolution to your pain!
