Suggest Treatment For Lump Between Testicles And Anus
I have a lump about the size of a nickel in the area behind my left testicle half way between my testicle and anus. I used a sterile needle to pop it. Blood and a mucous solution came out of it and it had a slight bad smell. I m a Paramedic and was wondering if this might be a polinidal cyst?
Yes, this could be a pilonidal cyst, but I recommend the histological analysis of the material from popping, in order to determine its nature. In the meantime, I recommend using locally an antibiotic ointment. You should discuss with your doctor on the above tests.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Clinical assessment is required for diagnosis of pilonidal sinus. Other differentials are boil, furuncle etc. In case the lump is due to pilonidal sinus cannot be managed by release of pus. A pilonidal sinus needs to be managed by excision of sinus tract.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
