Suggest Treatment For Lump In The Throat

I just started quitting smoking, ive been smoking for almost three years, I m twenty years old, and I had a bump, that doesnt hurt or anything in the middle of my throat that has now moved down, is that normal when you quit smoking? Should I be concerned? I thought the bump was my Adams apple so I didn t think of it til now.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi ! Good evening. I am Dr Shareef answering your query.

In my opinion, with the history of smoking, you should see your family physician/general surgeon for a clinical examination of the lump, neck as a whole, and also the oral cavity along with related investigations like an ultrasound and a FNAC to know the origin and relation of the lump/bump. I would also go for a thyroid function test in this case. Further management would depend on the physical findings and reports of the investigations.

I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts.

Thanks for choosing health care magic to clear doubts on your health problems. I wish you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
