Suggest Treatment For Lump On Pectoral Chest Area

Hello Dr, I would like to ask you about a lump that i have on my pectoral chest area. I am a 21 years old athletic male that plays sports on a regular basis including soccer and bodybuilding. I have had a small lump for a long time (probably 1+ years) in the middle of the lower pectoral chest area, a bit closer to the right (heart side); however, i never gave it any importance and thought that it might have been a residue of acne as i have taken many treatments/creams for that in the past. It was just a small uneven (in height) part of my skin. Nonetheless, it has started growing bigger suddenly in the past 1-2 weeks and is becoming red increasingly, making me have to scratch the area around it (trying to minimize any touching). It is still relatively small (1-1.5 inches) but very red and irritating now (painful if touched), it is also relatively firm and definitely cannot be moved. Any advice? Thank you in advance.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Read and understood you query. Thanks for an elucidate history too.
You are right , this obviously looks to be a pimple, sebaceous cyst in medical language. Once this gets infected it shows all the changes which you have correctly noted, namely redness, tenderness, fixation to the surroundings.
I would advise you the following::
Consult a General surgeon.
He would confirm the diagnosis by clinical examination.
Prescribe you antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medicines.
Surgery for removing the mass and the pus in such a way that recurrence is avoided. Simply giving an incision can cause this to reappear at a later date if the inner lining is not removed.,
Take care, go for the right Surgeon and the most proper treatment . ...
