Suggest Treatment For Lump On The Frontal Bone

I have a small lump/bump on the frontal bone near the hair line. It is about the size of a pea, is immobile, no discoloration, painless, and it is hard. I am 22 years old and have no family history of cancer. I am on tretanoin and a Azone for acne but no other medication.

Hi,

The lump on the forehead suggests "Osteoma" from the description provided by you. Mostly it stays the same and does not increase in size. It can be removed if its annoying or if it is increasing in size. In that case you will be required to undergo CT-Scan to understand the size and the nature of the lump. After removal the lump will be studied in the lab for knowing the exact nature of the disease. There is a possibility that it may grow back again after removal. I advise you to leave it as it is if its not increasing in size.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saurabh Mittal, Ophthalmologist
