Suggest Treatment For Lumps In The Trachea

I have an 8 yr old Am. Pitbull Terrier w/severe allergies. We give him Benedryl & occasionally Sudafed. He s never had any side effects. Today he has two large lumps, one on each side of his windpipe. His breathing sounds a bit labored as well but he s not outta breath or gasping. Thoughts? Thnx, Denise

Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand child 's situation and problem.
Your child is having bilateral enlarged cervical lymphadenopathy.
And most common cause for this is upper respiratory tract infection (URTI).
He is also having severe allergies. This can also lead to URTI.
So he needs antibiotics, antihistamines and anti inflammatory drugs.
Ask him to do warm water gargles 5-6 times a day.
Ask him to drink plenty of fluids orally.
He will mostly improve in 1-2 weeks.
If swellings are still persistent after 1-2 weeks than consult pediatrician and get done ultrasound examination of neck and fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) to confirm the diagnosis.
