Suggest Treatment For Lumps On Neck Of A Child

I have a 9 year old who has had lumps in the side of her neck since she was two. Two doctors said don t worry it s likely swollen lymph nodes, as they shrink and grow. These have been squishy and moved around, and didn t really bug her. On occasion they were minorly tender. She has allergies. But recently she is complaining and crying of pain from a different kind of lump at the base of her skull, that are hard and do not move. I have been giving her advil for the pain. ON sunday she cried and was lethargic and fevered, stating they hurt so bad. we are icing them daily. Please advise I am concerned. WE live in a rural area where referrals take long.

Hello,

Fever can cause lymph node swelling in babies which is common and not worry some. If you have any family history of malignancy then you can get her checked till then treat her fever first.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
