Suggest Treatment For Malformation On Pons Area Caused Due To Recurrent Strokes
I ve suffered 4 strokes since March 2014. I saw my neurologist today, and he said the reading of my 6th, yes 6th MRI, shows malformations on the pons area, due to the recurrent strokes. I m getting home care with the visiting nurse, OT, PT & speech therapy. My INR is checked each week. My Coumadin dosage varies, as expected. My doctor wants to keep the level from 2.5-3. Where is the pons part of the brain?

HI
Greetings from Dr.Divakara.P Thanks for posting your query.
I will explain to you in simple words . Human brain can be roughly divided into 2 parts.
1. Cerebral Hemisphere : The part of the brain under the skull. 2. Brainstem : The part of brain that is present behind the back of neck that connects Spinal cord to cerebral hemisphere.
Pons is one of the part is Brainstem . Roughly it is present at the junction of base of the skull with the neck .
There is no specific treatment for the malformation caused due to recurrent strokes. But I will be able to advise you more better if you could upload the scan report.
Hope this information is useful to you. Any clarification feel free to ask.
