Suggest Treatment For Memory Loss And Speech Issues

How long can a person live with brain atrophy, bad eating habits, and no exercise? Already having extreme memory loss and speech problems developing. Has lost from size 44 pants down to 36 in about 6 months. Kidney functions bad, and some distress problems felt.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The prognosis for brain disease would depend on the exact type and cause of brain disease present.

Poor eating habits and lack of activity would contribute to weight gain which can then possibly lead to diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, arthritis and a host of other conditions.

Kidney disease also has a poor prognosis but this also depends on the extent of the problem.

It may be best to speak to the doctor involved with care to get an idea about overall prognosis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James, General & Family Physician
