Suggest Treatment For Meniscus Knee Injury

Hello, a family member of mine has a condition with his knee. In his childhood, he was kicked while playing soccer, just below the knee and now he has a grown what i think, well translated from russian is a meniscus but im not sure what its called. So can you tell me what can be done?
