Suggest Treatment For Menorrhagia

have had some serious bouts of menorhaggia in the last 6 weeks. Blood tests showed lowered iron count but blood cell size was normal. Had a ferritin test and the results were 4.1. I am 55 years old and my other blood tests indicate that I have not begus menopause. What would you advise your patient to do to correct? Is this a serious condition? I notice that I have heart palpatations almost every time I eat.
