Suggest Treatment For Migraines And Occipital Pain
I suffer from migraines and occipital pain tight neck, I had anterior cervical discectomy, some mornings , no warnings,I have sweating, tingle in arms, nauseau watery stool, feeling faint I take Fiorinol for migraines and Promethegan for nausea. These episodes are very infrequent but most concerning I ve had occipital nerve block which helped but can find no one to give me another treatment I live in Florida
Hello! I read your question and understand your concern. On my opinion the pain you have may be related to the occipital neuralgia. It is very common after neck surgery , more frequent in the posterior discectomy. But the tingling in your arms are not a feature of this disorder. I recommend a new cervical spine CT scan , for a new displaced disc which can cause these symptoms. A cervical collar would help. An occipital nerve stimulation, a surgical procedure which puts a pacemaker under your skin would solve the problem if no new disk displacement found. I would recommend Indomethacine or Lamotrigine for pain management. Hope to have been helpful! Best wishes Dr. Abaz Quka
