My son is 18 and having continuous migraines. If he goes for a walk in the woods, away from city smells, etc, it clears up significantly. Can there be a problem with oxygen getting to the brain? Also he has seen a chiropractor, but that didn t seem to help
Hello dear, I understand your concern about your son.Migraine is typically characterised by episodic headache which is pulse-like or throbbing, mostly hemicranial or on one side of head, associated with nausea, visual aura(like seeing flashing zig-zag lights),photophobia(headache increases on bright light) or phonophobia(headache increases on exposure to sound).Headache is usually precipitated by a trigger factor which can be anything like sunlight, loud noise, stress, food items(like tea, coffee, cheese or any other food item),smoking or alcohol.Actually, one has to identify what are his or her trigger factors.Trigger factors can vary from individual to individual. It is not due to the hypoperfusion(or oxygen deficiency) of the brain.Only thing that can improve migraine is eliminating one's trigger factor from his lifestyle otherwise he will have to be on medicines always.I hope it helps.
