Suggest Treatment For Mild Case Of Shingles

I have a mild case of shingles... I had the vaccine a year ago. I was visiting my son and daughter in law in Vancouver, who have an 18 month old and my daughter in law is 29 weeks pregnant. I was there for 2 weeks and saw this rash 2 days before I left to return to Toronto. I thought it was from gardening. The rash didn t go away in a week so I saw my DR. who said it was mild shingles. I am concerned that I was contagious while visiting in Vancouver. What should I tell them to do? Thank you.

Hi,

Dermatological conditions are hard to discuss without seeing them. Antiviral treatment with an anti-inflammatory lowers the risk of chronic pain from it. Well, tell them they were exposed but if they've had chicken pox it is unlikely that they will have a problem from it.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
