I ve had what seems to be a cold for several days, the symptoms are uncomfortable but I have only a mild fever. The thing that bothers me most is I tend to sweat profusely and tire quickly with very little physical exertion. Last night, I woke up with my sheets soaking wet, but was only running a really mild fever (about 99 degrees fahrenheit). I don t remember this with earlier colds. In fact, the only time I remember breaking out in a sweat with so little exertion was years ago when I came down with pneumonia (although I was much sicker overall at that time). Can this be normal with a simple virus or might I have something more serious than a cold or flu? When symptoms first began (mostly a sore throat) I was seeing my doctor for something else and she did a strep test that came back negative. Overall, I don t feel good, but I can breathe fine. I have a lot of head congestion that is controlled pretty well with Afrin. I m not coughing a lot, but when I do I bring up tan phlegm. I d love your advice on whether you think I m best waiting it out for a few more days or if I should follow up with my physician.
