Suggest Treatment For Mild Hydroureteronephrosis In The Right Kidney

I had a ct scan and they found a mild hydroureteronephrosis in right kidney. Also found a distended bladder. I was given a prescription for antibiotics, pain medication for 72 hours, told to drink plenty of fluids and to return if pain lasts more than 48 hours, and discharged. It seems that something more is wrong than just an infection?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It seems to be a case of Urinary Tract Infection (UTI). Don't worry about it.

You take plenty of liquid, take more fruit, lemon juice, and buttermilk.

There is tablet vitamin C which you can take. Consult your physician for prescription.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Purva Patel
