I am a 46 year old female (about 40 lbs overweight, with hypertension and type II diabetes). As of this past February, I had 6 uterine fibroids, approximately 1.5 to 3.3 cms (seen through transvaginal ultrasound). They've caused me discomfort for years (I've had TV ultrasounds about every 6ths- year for seven years) but are not growing rapidly. However, I am experiencing something unusual that's never happened before. Although I've always gotten considerable PMS symtoms, I've never been late with a period. I know this can be due to perimenopause. However, I am a week overdue, having terrible PMS and abdominal cramping as if I"m just on the verge of starting. And, within the past month or so have been having terrible leg fasciculations and somtimes full-out leg cramps during my sleep. I've tried staying well hydrated, exercise, sexual activity, meditation, etc. but nothing is bringing my cycle on. Any thoughts? I've got a big interview tomorrow and feel as if I'm about to explode (i.e. abdomen has been bloated due to PMS over a week now). P.S. I am definately NOT pregnant.
