General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Moles are growths on the skin that are usually brown or black. Moles can appear anywhere on the skin, alone or in groups. It can grow little bigger in size as age advances. It is normal to have between 10-40 moles by adulthood. In many parts of the body, hairs may also grow through it.
Dermatologist will remove the entire mole if it is bigger in size by cutting out the entire mole and a rim of normal skin around it, and stitching the wound closed.
In case the mole is small, it can be removed by electrocautery.
Hope the information provided would be useful.
All the best.
