General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Since she feels better with the medicines prescribed she should continue to take it but she should not become dependent on it. Mouth ulcers or canker sores are commonly caused due to the deficiency of folic acid, zinc, iron, calcium, vitamin B1, B2 and B6. She is suggested to take supplements or home made food rich in the above minerals and vitamin.

She should avoid taking acidic, spicy, oily food as it will trigger the symptoms. She should take care of her oral hygiene, she should rinse her mouth and do gargling with warm salt water three times a day. She can take a course of antibiotics after getting clinically examined by an ENT to get relieve faster. Avoid addictions if any.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
