Suggest Treatment For Muffled Hearing And Fluid Retention In The Ear Drum

I have seen my ENTIRE and he declared there is an air bubble trapped against my ear drum by a small bit of fluid. No infection, very little pain just extremely muffled hearing, except myself, I sound like I m yelling all the time. I have tried popping them every way u can imagine. Nothing works. Any suggestions? Getting desperate!

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You may be suffering from Eustachian tube dysfunction or middle ear infection or chronic allergies etc.

Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Avoid cool drinks and freeze water. Avoid cool climate.

Use water vapor inhalation and salt water gargling thrice a day for five days.

If symptoms not improved please consult your ENT specialist he will do tympanogram and audiometry and treat you accordingly.

Take care.
