Hi. This is due to the dysfunction of the Eustachian tubes which connect the back of the nose to the middle ear cavities, *Their main function is to keep the air pressure equal on both sides of the ear drums. * They get blocked temporarily so that the air inside the middle ear is partially absorbed by the body and the ear drums ( Tympanic Membrane) is drawn inside -called as retraction. This happens due to pre-existing swelling at the inner end of the tubes called tubal tonsils. *Once you are cooled down, means you are resting , the swellings reduces to allow the air inside to have an equal pressure and resume hearing.
Treatment:: * ENT Surgeons opinion and ENT Endoscopy to see the cause. Proper antibiotic and anti-inflammatory Medicines,; antihistamines / decongestant oral medicines or nasal drops help to resolve the problem . * Never blow nose / Never allow the pressure inside the nose and throat to be increased - this gives reactionary edema.
