Suggest Treatment For Mulluscum Bumps On Shaft Of Penis

My Doctor said I have mulluscoum. I am a healthy adult male. Age 19. They are located on the shaft of penis, and have started to turn red. Around 9 bumps that have been there for 5 months. At what stage in the healing process am I? And how much longer do you think I will have them? Also, would you recommend treatment of any kind.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
I have gone through your question and understand your concern. Molluscum contagiosum is a viral disease( usually transmitted by sexual contact in adults) and lesions will regress over a period of 6 – 12 months without any medical intervention.
General precautions like avoiding sexual contact, wash hands regularly, avoid touching the lesions and swimming pools to prevent spread of disease to other parts of body. This will also prevent the spread of disease from person to person.
Add a daily dose of multivitamin like Centrum to boost immunity and recovery from the infection.
Hope your concern is answered. Thank you.
