General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
I have read your query & understand your concern,
Multiload is supposed to be a safe & long acting intra uterine contraceptive device.
The reported failures were those due to- use of the device beyond the prescribed period, displacement of device, expulsion of device.
Failure with properly positioned device within the prescibed time is very rare.
Now about your contraception- As you have two children, one of them being 2 years, you should take oral contraceptive for one year( till younger daughter is 3.) & get a permanent sterilization by tubectomy(abdominal/laparoscopic).
Thanks
