Suggest Treatment For Multinodular Goiter

I have a multinodular goiter, larger and more prominent on left side. I have had a couple FNA and ultrasounds tests normal. Thyroid tests on labs within normal range. I trained all summer for a half marathon running several times a week and eating healthy but I gained weight. The half marathon was in September and I am now at my heaviest. Could my thyroid be an issue? I have been referred to an endocrinologist in January .

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thank you for contacting healthcare magic.
If you are euthyroid (thyroid function test is normal ) and you have multinodular goiter, thyroidectomy is the solution. Consult a general surgeon for further management. Endocrinologist won't do anything if thyroid hormone is normal.
