Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 56 year old female. I have been suffering from muscle spasms and muscle pain for 2 years. My vitamin D was found to be extremely low (7) & after determining that I needed to take it sublingually, the muscle spasms started resolving. However, I still have some muscle pain and become extremely tired and suffer increased muscle pain after physical activity. My latest vit D level was 30.7. The level is approaching "normal" so I feel that there must be another undiagnosed source of muscle pain. Obviously, because I must take vit D sublingually in order to reap the benefits, there is an issue with gut absorption. Also, I have suffered with a vaginal yeast infection for decades. It will respond for awhile to treatment then it returns. I think the yeast and the gut absorption must also be related but I am most concerned about the muscle pain which limits activity. Do these problems present a common source?
