Hello,

Valsartan is an antihypertensive and Amiloride is a potassium sparing diuretic. Valsartan has superior anti hypertensive property than Amiloride. Muscular dystonia is treated by the combination of medications and physical therapy.

Medications used are injections of botulinum toxin (Botox, Dysport, others) into specific muscles might reduce or stop your muscle spasms. Injections are generally to be repeated every 3 to 4 months. Carbidopa levodopa, Trihexyphenidyl and benztropine are also used. Physical therapy is also recommended.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
