Suggest Treatment For Nagging Cough In Infants

Hi, I have a Twin baby (boy and Girl), both are having cold and they have running nose. while coughing we can hear the cold inside their chest, what is the best medicine i can give them, I m from UAE, so would like to know what is the OTC medicine i can buy and give

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your children have nagging cough, cold and runny nose which seems to be due to chest infection/ chronic upper respiratory tract infection. I would suggest you to take nasal sprays and do warm saline gargles. You can take Anti-allergic Benedryl or cetrizine, it helps to reduce mucous production. Take proper course of antibiotic as well. Visit pediatrician once and get it examined. You should get throat swab test and paranasal sinus x-ray done and start treatment after proper prescription. Avoid oily and sharp food. Drink plenty of fluids.
