My son is 17 and a musical theater kid. For the past two years he has developed a raspy voice, with nasal congestion that affects his ability to hear the music well . This seems to happen most often from November through January. What could be the cause?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. Your son's problem can be due to sinusitis or allergic rhinitis. Using nasal decongestant sprays like xylometazoline ( otrivin ) and taking chewable vitamin C will be helpful.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
