Suggest Treatment For Nasal Perforation

I have a nasal perforation , visited a local ENT specialist and he said there was nothing that could be done , that all the techniques available didbn't work and caused more problems , made it worst . Please let me know what different procedures are available , and , is it possible for the hole to become smaller by cartliage growth ? It's well nown in the field of Arthritis care that it is possible , I wonder in at least the hole can become smaller by taking supplements , eating cooked cartilage , etc. Thanks , Mark

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

Closing a nasal septal perforation can be broadly divided into:
1. Placement of a nasal septal prosthesis
2. Surgical repair

Treatment may vary depending upon the defects size and age of the patients and disease that causing perforation.

Cartilage has less regenerative capacity, so it may not regrow after perforation. So, please consult your ENT specialist, he/she will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
