Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My father who is 93 in an assistant living inviroment, very clean physicality with very good and knowledgable staff on board. I am just trying to educate myself on what may be going on with my dad, about 3 weeks ago he showed a little blood in his stool, no pain or problems with having a bowl movement. Within the last week he has been nausea after eating and very week. Tonight after eating a blan diet broth, bananas and cottage cheese he vomited all up with in about 10 minutes. He felt much better after he got sick. He is very alert and says he is in no pain and feels good. What are your thoughts? Concerned daughter.
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, if it is little blood stain stool and happens just once then it is nothing to worry because it could be due to hard fecal consistency, not actual constipation, encourage him for drinking water, if the symptom persist with vomiting then infection need to be ruled out, for vomiting Tab Domperidone 20 mg can be tried, geriatric age group may have many such symptoms and care need to be taken for that, in my opinion routine medical examination is must hope this information helps.
