Suggest Treatment For Nausea, Dizziness And Numbness In The Face

My son has been trying to find out what is wrong with him for five years now with no success. Recurrent symptoms are dizziness, nausea, excessive tangy odour, numbness on left side of face, & severe headaches, gout in his toes and knees, sleep apnea. He has seen a neurologist and they have ruled out ear nose and brain problems and vertigo, has a stress test and was declared ok. His doctor seems uninterested in moving forward . What might be our next course of action?

Hi Dear ,

Welcome to HCM,

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have nausea, dizziness and numbness in the face . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, inflammation within the inner ear sometimes due to infection, side effects of certain medications and heart condition, meniere's disease , sinusitis and migraines . Sometimes condition like stroke also give such symptoms . For now take steam thrice a day ,avoid bending forward, take proper rest and drink green tea with ginger thrice a day. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may order test like rotatory chair test , posturography , blood test and CT scan . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics along with antiemetic drug , decongestant and expectorant . Doctor may refer you to cardiologist for stroke like condition . Apply warm compresses on face and take steam several times a day .
