Suggest Treatment For Nausea, Fatigue And Light Headedness

I have lightheadedness almost every day when I get up and all through the day. I especially notice it more when I have bowel movements. I also am having more (in number) than normal bowel movements quite frequently. And it is often accompanied by feelings of nausea and fatigue. I spend a lot of time with my legs elevated thinking it will relieve my lightheadedness.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Light headedness, nausea and fatigue may be indicative of early signs of pregnancy. It may be due to general weakness, thyroid dysfunction, anemia, migraine, vertigo, etc. It can also be due to an underlying medical condition like an inner ear infection, dehydration, heart failure, or a stroke. Limit salt intake, take quality sleep at night at least 8 hours, avoid stressing as it triggers anxiety.

Manage your blood sugars levels. Quit smoking and cut on drinking alcohol. Take adequate water and fluids to prevent dehydration. Dehydration triggers lightheadedness. Do not skip meals so that your blood pressure is maintained normal. Take home made nutritious diet rich in iron, calcium, magnesium, and proteins.

Get clinically examined by a GP / ENT, get a complete medical check up done. Get all required tests and investigations done. In the meantime, take Vertin-16 to cope with light headedness. Avoid doing any hard work and do not drive. You will be treated accordingly after the reports are received and pathology is detected.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
