Suggest Treatment For Nausea, Hot Flashes And Fatigue

Symptoms are nausea, vomiting, hot flashes, sweating where the lymph nodes are located and extreme fatigue. The first symptom began months ago with bowels that work about once a month, went to the doctor and said to take metamucil. Could be menopause but still have periods sporatically. Is this something I should find a doctor for? Also type 2 diabetic on insulins.

Hello,

I should know your age, firstly. As you said about menopause, I can understand that your age is in menopausal age.

Yes, at the beginning of menopause, there may be bleeding sporadically.

There may be shedding of endometrial tissues of rupturing of blood vessel, but it is very likely not to have any ovulation, at this age. This may be anovulatory bleeding.

This is common during this time. If the symptoms like nausea, hot flashes, fatigue are present, then, I may give you some advice:

1. For nausea, you can take Promethazine 25 mg orally every 4 to 6 hours as needed.

Do not take more than 4 times a day.

2. For fatigue, please take rest and eat a healthy diet.

3. Keep yourself hydrated.

4. For bowel movement problem, please continue taking Metamucil

5. Please continue Insulin as an on-going treatment.

6. If too much hot flash is felt, please take Paroxetine 7.5 mg orally once a day. All these symptoms should go away with time.

If not, or if become severe, we can start Hormone Replacement Therapy.

Please keep yourself calm and quiet. Do not worry. Eat good foods. Try to avoid alcohol or smoke.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
