Hi there, I am a 69 year old female and have had ongoing upper right quadrant pain for over 2 years, along with two episodes of dramatic weight loss(14 1/2 stone down to 11 stone), nausea, vomiting, anaemia. I have have finally been diagnosed with paraesophogeal hiatus hernia, with approximately half my stomach being pushed up into my diaphragm. Is this life threatening and how urgent is treatment for this condition?
