Suggest Treatment For Nausea, Vomiting, Loss Of Appetite And Minor Diarrhea

Recently I have had strong symptoms that include nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, and slight minor diarrhea. No weight loss surprisingly, seeing as I ve been eating and snacking to keep my strength up but haven t had a regular meal in a while. (1 week). The symptoms are not worsening, since yesterday they have improved. I got blood work done 2 days in a row. The first time the WBC was said to be an abnormal 11.6, the next day it thankfully reduced to 7.3. Do I have anything to worry about? As far as leukemia, or any type of cancer? Anything serious? I d appreciate a second opinion and some reassurance.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi.
I've gone through your query and I can understand your anxiety.

Hiccups are mostly due to GI irritation or distension. Below are few suggestions to avoid repeated episodes :

1. Rebreathing deeply into a paper bag

2. Take a deep breath and hold it for few seconds.

3. Swallowing dry bread or crushed ice

4. Drink a small quantity of cold milk and hot milk alternately. Also take Juice of white raddish.

5. Take a glass of cold water and hold it in the mouth. Press middle fingers in both ears and swallow the water, removing the fingers after
moment or two. Repeat till relief

6. Neo-octinum 30 drops in a glass of water every 4 hours or tab. Baclofen10 mg bd.

7. ECG to rule out myocardial ischemia

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care.

Regards,
Dr. Yogapriya V, General and family physician.
