Suggest Treatment For Nose Bleeding While Suffering From Cough And Congestion
My dad has a bad cough and some congestion, and you can also here a wishel coming out from his chest, blood coming out of his nose, do I need to take him to the doctor for check up or what can be going on with him? His 65 years old and has high blood pressure and his also a diabetic,

Hello,
As your father is hypertensive, may I know whether blood is under control or not? Sometimes, uncontrolled hypertension is one of the causes of nose bleeding. Other causes are nasal dryness, nose fingering.
As he has bad cough and congestion, I will suggest your father to do chest x-ray, sputum examination, complete hemogram. Along with that you continue with steam inhalation twice a day and keep well hydrated.
You can give tablet Amox Clav, tablet Cheston cold, syrup Trustyl BR 10 ml after consultation. During nose bleeding, give proper pressure bandage over nose. Give cold compression and take him to emergency room for Nasal packing.
