Suggest Treatment For Numbness And Tightness In The Throat

I just had a mild reaction to a granola plank bar made by Earnest Eats. My symptoms are hive like redness around lip, tongue felt numb and tightness in the throat area but not bad enough that I could not breath. I brushed my teeth to rinse any food particles still left in my mouth and washed my lips. It is slowing going away but I don't know why this is happening. Can I take anything over the counter for now before I see my MD?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain you are having moderate allergic reaction to the granola plank bar and it needs immediate medical assistance as if it keeps on progressing it can lead to choking of throat and can cause difficulty in breathing..
You should take Allegra 6O mg twice a day for 3 to 5 days depending upon the rate of improvement of symptoms..
Prednisone 2O mg twice a day for two days followed by half a tablet for next two days and then half a tablet once on the fifth day..
You can also be advised to take Activated Charcoal as it absorbs most of the toxins and chemicals and relieve the condition..
You can take decongestent nasal spray for relief from choking..
If required the physician can give you injectable anti allergics and steroids..
