Suggest Treatment For Numbness And Tingling Sensation In The Hands
I am an auto tech. And have been in the field 16 years. Lately I am experiencing a numbness and a tingling down my right side. radiating into my hand and fingers. I often do engine removals and reinstalls. I am 37 years old and am in good health otherwise. I would appreciate your advise and recommendations.
Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query.
It sounds to me like possible carpal tunnel syndrome which is caused by median nerve irritation. Take more frequent breaks to rest your hands. Avoiding activities that worsen symptoms and applying cold packs to reduce swelling also may help.
Other treatment options include wrist splinting, medications and surgery. Splinting and other conservative treatments are more likely to help if you've had only mild to moderate symptoms for less than 10 months. your doctor may inject your carpal tunnel with a corticosteroid such as cortisone to relieve pain. Surgery may be appropriate if your symptoms are severe or don't respond to other treatments. Diagnosis can be confirmed with MRI scan or EMG.
I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time. Kindly regards. Wish you a good health.
