Suggest Treatment For Numbness In The Arms And Legs For A 70-year-old

The last few days I ve had numbness in my arms and legs, no pain or burning, just numbness. Is this a concern? I have had hip replacements too. I am 70 years old, normal weight and blood pressure and normal cholesterol. I do have arthritis in my hands that bothers me.

Hello,

Arthritis is the cause of having numbness in your arms due to inflammation compressing the nerves going near the inflamed arm joint.

So, we need to treat arthritis flare up with anti-inflammatories, plus physiotherapy. I can only suggest taking magnesium supplements to ease the pain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
