Suggest Treatment For Numbness In The Right Hand

My right hand is just starting to go numb. I have CKD and just got my latest GFR rating and it has dropped from the mid 40 sfor past couple of years to 33. Although the I am 79, I go for a 3 mile walk and then to the fitness center to lift weights every day. Should I worry about this numness?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Numbness in hand is mostly caused by peripheral nerve damage. Nerve damage is almost always permanent as nerve tissue does not grow back easily. One can only prevent further damage by identifying its cause and taking treatment. There are many causes of peripheral nerve damage such as diabetes, chronic kidney disease (CKD), leprosy, vertebral compression, vasculitis, shingles and hypothyroidism etc. There is a role of methylcobalamine in treatment of peripheral nerve damage caused by CKD.
Advice
1.     Give your hand proper rest
2.     Methylcobalamin 500 mcg once daily per oral for 3 months
3.     Consult a physiotherapist for hand exercises
Thanks
