Suggest Treatment For Obesity And Constipation

38 year old male and dieting but still 50-75 pounds overweight. Been a bit constipated since began dieting 2 months ago and at times my anal area has ached a bit and also have had somewhat thinner poop or pippin drips and drabs. Today in the shower while cleaning my anus I felt with my finger inside the anus a small Pea sized lump a little irritated and tender to the touch

Hi,

If you have been reducing your carbohydrate use to try to lose weight, this can contribute to your constipation.

You can try increasing fluid intake and also consider the milk of magnesia. It helps replace magnesium that can sometimes go low in a low carb diet and also provides a laxative effect.

It should not be used too often because you do not want your bowel to become dependent on the use of a laxative.

Using a fiber supplement may also be effective as well e.g. metamucil or citrucel.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
